I have had advice that the Autorun functionality is sometimes used as a conduit for infection with Malware. I'd like to turn it off.

How do I do that?

Quick Google search, and there is an answer

Now you know why I asked the question here.
That thread is so confused, and ultimately inconclusive, that it would make a monkey bite its mother.

When I insert a DVD/CD into its drive I want to be offered a choice of actions. I don't want a video to start playing or an application to start installing until I say so. Let's not get involved in semantics, nor in patches, fixes, or any other form of O/S surgery. Just a simple, reversible, setting would be nice.

I hope that is not too much to expect. [bow]
Thanks folks

Click Control Panel. Then Hardware and Sound. Then Autoplay.
