How do I determine whether S8300 is A or B, there is no sticker on the server?

Thanks,

Rod

from the linux command line do the following

grep ServerType /etc/ecs.conf

if it says ICC then its an s8300B

if its an s8300c it will says s8300c when you run the command.

You can also tell by looking at the cpu by the following command

more /proc/cpuinfo

if the cpu is 400 then its s8300b if its 600 then s8300c

s8300a only run om CM below 2.1 so you will probably have a b or a c server.

Hope that helps

From the SAT terminal run list config media <x> where <x> is the media gateway your S8300 is in. It should show you the version. There was a firmware issue in earlier releases where the version would not show up. In that case you can do a 'show mg list' from the gateway and find out the version.
