Greetings,

We have a need to write a NT service. As I havent written any one sofar I would appreciate if you could point a resource to me so i can get started. I hope to hear frm all you out there .

Another easy approach is to create an ATL project in Visual C++. One of the first options the wizards gives you is to create a service. This will take care of 90% of the trouble involved with creating one.

Um sorry to jump on someone elses thread but i've ssen constant references to msdn what is this?

Thanks

You may wish to try the book "Professional NT Services" by Kevin Miller. It will show you how to do the service right and tell you tips and tricks you won't get from using the ATL wizard - a definite must have resource however you do your service.
