I have installed a new win2k Server on the network. Can I start the old NT Server on a seperate and demote to workstation and then introduce onto win2k network?

Thanks

Only way to demote from server to workstation is to rebuild the machine. Same is true for demoting a DC to a member server, unless you have something like u promote.

Not all true, you can demote if you want to buy some software. Look into a product called 'upromote'. We use it and it is great. For example, I built a plain jane member server, backed it up. Restore it on a seperate server, then run the upromote software to promote it to and PDC or BDC on the network. Saves lots of time and well worth the money. No longer have to build from cdrom, and then aplly service pack and hotfix after hotfix. HTH
