Using a MacBookPro, in InDesign, I want to delete page one of a document so I can have just 2 and 3, which appear as a spread. When I delete page one, pages 2 and 3 separate and don't stay side by side.
Even pages(2,4,6,8,...) are always on the left and vise versa. Deleting pg1 automatically turns page 2 into page 1 leading to a break of a spread that had pg2 and p3.
Try going to the fly out menu and unchecking "allow pages to shuffle". With a bit of tweaking, you should get what you want.
And in response to your query, grafixenter, quite often artwork is set up like this for covers etc. and the printer does the difficult stuff of making it print correctly.
If you're using facing pages and if you need the actual (printed) page numbers to be 2 and 3, select the first page and choose to start the numbering at 2 in the numbering and section options in the Pages palette. Keep Allow Pages to Shuffle checked...that way you'll still have two-page spreads throughout.
Select the two pages that you want to keep and then select "Keep Spread Together" from the pages arrow menu.
Then you can delete page 1 and the two other pages will stay as a spread.
