Create a circle or ellipse then create some text...select both and under the Text pulldown choose Fit Text to Path.

Another option depending on the type of effect you are going for is to add an envelope and streeeeeeeetch it around. This can be a cool effect.

Actually, you can wrap text around any shape using the Fit Text to Path menu. This menu gives you many options and you can even edit the wrapped text and move it around (and off) the curve.

If you create a circle (for example) and use the "fit text to path" option, don't forget to click outside the object you're working on and then select the circle and delete it. The text will stay and will remain in the shape of the circle.
