How do I 'clean fuser input' on a HP LaserJet 5500, this message has come up at the same time as the cartridge replacement message.

Can anyone advise me how to do it ?

Thanks in advance.

The only thing I found on this issue:

HP Color LaserJet 5500 Printer Series - Solutions and Fixes Provided by Firmware 4.009.0:

When "REPLACE BLACK PRINT CARTRIDGE" message is displayed on the printers control panel, additional new "CLEAN FUSER INPUT" message will appear first. This ensures proper cleaning interval for the fuser discharge comb to maintain high print quality.

So does it require the user to do anything other than change the required cartridge ?

Seems to me that they just can change the cartridge and the message should disappear.

Had the same thing today on my printer. Just changing the cartridge made the message disappear. But if you want to clean the fuser input (which is adviseble, because the one in my printer had accumulated a lot of dirt), then follow the link below to the HP doc. This PDF doc describes in detail how to do this.
