Ho do I check my system registry file? Thanks.

Rajeev

I believe that rnowrang is looking for the tool which Win 98 had in the MSINFO32 program to verify that the registry was ok.

How do I view and edit the sys registry file i guess?

rn

Start, Run, regedit

Notes:

. the registry is not a single file, but at least 6 files called "Hives": system, sam, security, software, default, and user.

. if the registry is corrupt, XP will attempt to repair it at startup. If it cannot, it will not start.

thanks for the links. what do you think about "Registry Mechanic"? Is that any good? thanks.

Rajeev
