How do I changed AST values if they are already set?

Hi everyone:
New Phone Guy here.
I need to change the keys associated with the AST setting for my 2616 phone.

Currently I have the keys set to 00 and 09, but I need to change the 09 to 08.

When I try the following, nothing happens and the AST keys remain 00 and 09

REQ: CHG
TYPE: 2616
TN: l s c u
ECHG: YES
ITEM: AST 00 08

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you deacquiring the phone first?

Try to remove AST 08 at first:

REQ: CHG
TYPE: 2616
TN: l s c u
ECHG: YES
ITEM: AST x9

and then modify .... ITEM: AST 0 8
