Hello,

I am hosting 5 sites on an NT server running IIS4.0.

There is one main site ( and 4 other spin off sites each with seperate domain names ( I need to change the domain names of the spin off sites to reflect the fact that they come from the main site ( I would like to end up with def.abc.com without the www. Also one of these sites has a .org. does this matter?

I would appreciate any help.

Many thanks,

:)

Change DNS records and change host header names on your IIS
That should work Peter Van Eeckhoutte

In watching this thread and reply, I think that in changing the DNS info, you will create an alias DNS entry to point requests to this web site. When want to access def.abc.com, they will be directed to your IP and IIS will direct them according to the Host Header Name info. If I'm not correct about this, then someone chime in here?

Guys!!!

def.com is the fully qualified domain name

abc.com is a fully qualified domain name FQDN

def.abc.com is a SUBDOMAIN of abc.com

you need to own abc.com first!

you cannot, in any way, make def.com into def.abc.com

you need abc.com to do that
