How do I change the report from table based to use a Command object?

I am using Crystal 9 and have some existing reports based on our SQL server database. The reports need to be updated and have become a little more complex. I would therefore like to use a command object instead of pointing to the tables directly.
I'm not sure exactly how to do this without losing all the fields which are currently on the report (which I DO NOT want to do).
I've tried using "Set Datasource Location" and adding the command in the "Replace with" section but it doesn't seem to work.

Can anyone help?

Hi Alettia

Just tried to do this myself, and I can't seem to get it to work. Perhaps one of the other chaps here can help.

However, since you're working on SQL server, why not rather use views or stored procedures to base your reports on?

Thanks for your response. I don't think our Repository is set up correctly as I get an error when I try to save anything to it. I'm using a view instead.

Thanks.

Alettia: Much better idea anyway as the View promotes reusability and simplified maintenance to proprietary objects anyway.
