Hello. Our system is a dual Neax 2000 IPV box with Dterm Series E NEC phones. We changed some staff members this year and called out a phone guy to move the punch down wires so the extensions would move, but I need to change the names on those extensions to match the staff members new name.

From the research I have done, I think I need a cable and a MAT software for a PC? Is there no way to program this from the phone? I have no cables or software as of now, and the phone guys were not very motivated in doing this programming for us. I am a technology coordinator but I have never done a phone system like this. Basically I need the start from scratch walk through of what I need and how I would do it.

Thanks

I am sorry, I want to correct what I said. We have a 2000 IVS no an IPV. Sorry if that confused anybody.

I found it in the FAQ on how to change the name. Luckily I could do it through the phone! On this system can everything be programmed through the phone or should I still look into getting a cable and programming it with a computer?

My next step is to figure out how to do group calling, so that the phone rings on both our secretaries phones at the same time. Any tips on that?

Thanks

Ok

yes everything can be done from a Dterm.

The way to make a line ring on multiple phones is to add a line appearance to the phones and that is done in Cmd 90YY

I would suggest you download a copy of the command manual and the feature programming manual from
