I don't know how to change the % that our auto grat button charges. Right now it needs manager approval(which is good) but unless I'm missing something it just adds the 20%.I want to change it so I can decide what % I would like added.

So I figured it out.. In backoffice-store settings-financial-gratuities. The "manager approval" must be checked( which it was) to force a manager to OK the added grat, and "manger override" must be checked as well (which ours was not). Then when I push auto grat on check it needs approval and let's me adjust the %. Previously it was only adding 20% without letting us adjust.

Bear in mind that the IRS now classifies "auto" (forced) gratuities as Service Charges. Service charges (vs. normal tips) are considered regular wages and therefor subject to payroll tax withholding. You must also distribute "auto" gratuities via payroll check vs. giving the staff their tip at the end of their shift. Most of our clients have completely done away with using any type of auto gratuity to avoid the complications of compliance.
