How do I change POS-IDs? 1

Our phone extension numbers were in the range 200-360. Agent POS-IDs were then created as agent dn+200 ie for a phone extension of 241 the POS-ID would be 441.

Unfortunately we have now increased our phone range to 500 so our numbering scheme is now coming up against errors.

How do I get a list of POS-IDs already on the system, and if possible how do I change the POS-IDs to accept four digits instead of three? Ideally we would like the POS-ID to be the phone exension number plus a single digit prefix but looking on LD20/LUDN there are no consecutive blocks of 4-digit numbers currently available - although I have no idea where the 'missing' numbers are or what they are used for.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

C

When you print the LUDN you may not see all the numbers, ie, if you see 17 18 19 then every 17xx 18xx 19xx number are available. You should not change the Pos ID on a phone, you can out that tn, and rebuild it with a 4 digit id though. The system doesnt care if it is 3 or 4 digits. The LUDN can be confusing if you don't realize it doesnt show every number. If you only showed a 7, then every 7xxx number is available. Hope that made sense. It's early haha

post is correct, out the phones and put them back in, i use 6 digit p-id's we have 10000 did's so any number i waste is a did. by making then one or 2 digits more then your dial plan the next did increase will be less painfull..

I though I could just change the POS-ID buy nulling key 00 then reentering it with the new number. Now I've just got fifty odd phones to out.

Many thanks for your fast response guys.

never make a change on a acd set, you can get away with a few but then a few days/weeks later.. ini, no dial tone, tech support.. you know the drill

By following some simple rules, you can avoid corruption on ACD sets

If set has a SPID assignment - out and rebuild

If set is monitored by supervisor (AGT key on supv set) remove AGT assignments 1st and then out and rebuild

If set is aquired - de-aquire first

disable set before making changes

Don't use easy change

never make any change on any acd set.. when you do the switch will not ini.. it will ini every few days after that until the corruption is cleaned out... it's to easy to do it right, and way to hard to fix it...
