how do i change a model 2008 to a 2616D in system 2

i'm not having much luck in "LD 11" changing the type of phone.
DNs not changing only changing the type of phone but can't seem to get the system to accept the change.
i've inherited the system and don't know too much at all about phones (pc guy) so i'm struggling.
any response would be appreciated.

what is your release version on your pbx? what type is your pbx? 11c? 81? 61? 51?

You need to go into LD 20 and look into your NTP books and where it says Type, change to 2616.

post back if you are having trouble.

To change an M2008 for an M2616, you need to out the set, (PRT the TNB 1st so you have all the settings), then program it as a new M2616.

printer will only 'prt scrn' (like i said, inherited)
LD 20 will not let me "reg chg" to change type of ph.

to wdhb; i know in vmail how to del and create uses but i don't know how to "out" on the pbx side..
are you saying i need to do an 'LD 23' "out" and then do an 'LD 23' "new"?

You must load first LD 11 , for out the phone M2008 , and then create the new M2616.

and then , when your phone 2008 its out , you make the new 2616

i haven't given up... i've just run into a few snags...
it appears that the adjusted TN list i have is NOT the same TNs that are in the system.

location changes were made on the D block. physically punched down on a different TN when someone moved from the front of the bldg to the back. but no changes were made in system... so i try to &quot;out&quot; and &quot;new&quot; and hit snags

i.e. out TN 8 1 DN 0002, new TN 8 1 DN 0002,
SNAG system says no, because DN 0002
(was originally) TN 9 6 DN 0002
and still is in the system
and 8 1 was DN 0005

i did get my printer to start giving me print outs but
the TNs don't match up with the punch downs...

it is done....finally. all i had to do was 'out' two phones and 'new' two phones, it took me four days.
next time i can probably get it done in two days, eh.

you people must have much newer software than this system, i wish the 'LD11 cpy' would've worked, but then i wouldn't have learned as much.

I was able to get the TN out from the 2008 model.
I was able to copy from TN template to my new 2616.
the problems comes when I want to change the name for this new 2616 .

What does 1591 means? is 1591 a DN?



If anyone has an idea what I'm doing wrong I really apreciate your help..

i would make the keys 8 and 9 NUL first then re-enter the new details using CHG..if that still wont work NUL key 11 XMWK.you may want to try NUL to all keys that need changing then reprog them...try that Colin
