We have exchange 5.5 and I wish to block incoming mail from specific addresses over the IMS. Is this possible? If so how?
thanks!

Hi There

Yep - it's quite easy.

Go to the properties of your IMS and choose the Connections tab. You'll see a button for 'Message Filtering'. In there, you'll be able to block complete domains or even individual senders from a domain.

about the VBS extensions. You have to have a 3rd party software such as Symantec's Norton Antivirus for Gateway.

Norton Antivirus for Exchange version 2 can do this via registry settings. Scanmail has a "virus wall" and several other options out there to block attachments. Outlook security patch will make you worry free as well. Outlook XP also blocks exe's and such by default. Dan
