Dear all,

Our Nortel Meridian PBX system is set to deny forwarding of calls to external phone numbers. Does anyone know how to enable this feature?

I have a couple of users who are out today and needs to forward their customer support lines to their homes. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks ahead of time!

From the other post:

Set CLS to CFXA, then change the CFW key to allow for enough digits. (so if you do 7 digit calls, change to CFW 8, or 10 digits would need a CFW 11). You will also need to check in the CDB that you have CFF set. This says that the forwarding phone determines whether or not a call is forwarded based on the phones configuration or the trunk/line the call came in on.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm sorry but I fairly new to this system, but this is what I did.

I chg the 4 digit to 12 digits and also did the ITEM: CLS CFXA. I tested by using another four digit extension to call the forwarding number, and it did forward the call to another outside line. But, I tested it by calling with my cell phone, and instead of forwarding my call to the outside line, it said something about voicemail/operator and transferred me to the receptionist.

What do I need to do for me to use the outside line (my cell phone) to dial to an internal number (x####), and this internal number will be forwarded to my home number?

Thanks for all your help! I think I am almost there!!!

the only thing you missed is the ld 15 command.. in ld 21 prt cdb, look at opt's, it's toward the top.. change that to cff.. that is always a problem if a cfxa works internal but not if called from a trunk

Ok, this is what I did:

ld 21
REQ: prt

CUST: 00

<<<<
ld 15
REQ: chg

SCH0510 (so this is where I get stuck. I can't seem to change it)(all I know is that my OPT setting is at DNX, but I need to change it to CFF)

What am I missing?

return down to opt, you need to change the options not the aml data

Your trying to change the wrong thing.

No one said to change ld 15
REQ: chg
TYPE: cdb
CUST: 00
AML_DATA opt cff

ld 15

cdb
opt cfo to CFF

This is done in the FTR gate opener

ld 15

REQ CHG
TYPE FTR
CUST 0
OPT CFF

Using FTR at the type prompt will get you directly where you need to go.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

I hit ENTER after the AML_DATA line but it goes into the ANI_DATA line, then the ATT_DATA line then the AWU_DATA line.

So I can't seem to get to the area that I can configure the OPT DNX to OPT CFF.

Scott,

With your way, I was able to get to the OPT line, so next to it, I typed in CFF. Is this the way to change it or do I need to type in a command? Afterwards, I went to ld 21, prt, to see the settings but its still showing OPT DNX. Does this means that it hasn't changed?

In LD 21, change the CDB response to FTR. That will print just the Feature options, which is where this is located. Did you test again? If you were able to input CFF, you should be good to go.

The OPT you are seeing is for a different set of options, Look at the OPT under the FTR for your change.

Scott M.

Scott,
I was able to input CFF next to OPT on the chg of ld 15. I called with my cell phone, but its still saying it will connect to voicemail. I then did the ld 21 with FTR response, and it looks like this:

<<<< call you tell based on this that it has successfully changed?

Scott,

I think that did the trick! It works now. It's just that when I changed the setting...waited a min, and tested it, it didnt' work. But 5 mins later I tried again and it worked. So I guess it needed time to allow the settings to take place.

I only want this feature (allow forwarding to external numbers temporarily). So I would like to lock our phone system down once those two employees come back from vacation (to prevent hackers to use our system to dial long distance). I will change the CFW 11 back to CFW 4 within ld 11. But in ld 15, where I changed to CFF, what should I do to lock our phone again? Do you have an idea what my initial settings was?

it was cfo, it shouldn't cause a problem.. what i do is remove cfxa

ld 11

even with cfw 4 and cfxa i can forward to 9, call my did and get dialtone, real simple hacker trick..

ld 81

that will give you a list of all stations that can call forward to a trunk.. and you need to give scott for his help on that one bro
