New PC with win XP, the driver is about 200GB, there are two partitions on it, c: about 180G, D: about 20G, wanna divide c: to several smaller partitions, say 40G, which software should I use without reinstall the whole system? Any idea will be apprieciated.

one more thing, it's a HP computer, partition d: is for backup and restore and so on.

Thanks, but where can I get Acronis PartitionExpert?

Online or any major computer retail chain store, the Acronis products are very widely distributed (and great stuff too)

This would be my personal preference.

Before $pending your hard earned ca$h try the XP built in system. Under disk management it gives you the option to partion your drives.

xchefpeter,

But it does not let you "shrink" an existing partition. The point of the original question was to avoid re-installing the OS.

You have to turn to third-party tools in this circumstance. You can, within circumscribed limits, "grow" a partition with Disk Managament. But you cannot "shrink".

Yah, I need to make c: to some smaller partitions, I also want to try something free, cause it's friend's machine, I dont want to spend my money on it.
