I have a workstation, user installed NT server but does not know if it was configured as a Controller or Standalone.
Before I add it to the domain, I need to know how it was setup.

How can you tell, locally, if a workstation is a Standalone or Controller?

Thanks Everyone!

GO TO Server Manager in NT Server.

Look in server manager. It will show you the role of every box on your network.

Thanks folks.

Unfortunately this Server is not on the Domain so it does not show in SvrMngr. I do not want to add it until I know if it a Controller or not.
Please let me know if I am missing something?

Start the server and then check Server Manager on that machine. If you are concerned about network confilcts unplug the cat 5 first

I would think it is a standalone. I'm thinking that in order to setup a BDC, it has to find the PDC or it wont install. If it hasnt been part of the domain, then I would think it is a standalone.

Look in server manager, it should list PDC's, BDC's and workstations.
