Hi all
Dose anyone know how to back track the origin of an abusive
email. I need to take action, but with out proof nobody is listening..

many thanks
;-)

Does it have the domain listed in the email or any ip addresses? This would give an indication. Sometimes they can be masked as well to give a dummy domain but check this first and let us know. Remember, life is what you make it.

If you got the Email through an ISP, then you can forard it with full headers to the abuse line, as in abuse@MyIsp.net

Some ISPs ignore them, and mine tries to take action on every one.

They can sometimes get in touch with the real sender's ISP and as them to warn the user that they have been had.

step one is ask your ISP. If you are your own ISP, well, smile...

As you probably know, the Form: is likely not from whom it came.

Yes I have the domain (205.188.193.32)and have done a ns on it and got AO* (you Know). I also have the hotmail account, so I am close, but would like to know the location it was sent from, relative to the IP.

Try right clicking on the email and go to options or properties.
