I need to do a graph report using bar and line together and I searched it in CR 6.0 and 7.0 and did not find anything. can anyone guide me how to do that? Is there a feature?
If you are still interested, you can create a bar and line chart together. I start by creating just a bar chart for all the data I'm interested in. Then you will want to choose custom chart (I'm in CR 7, by the way). Go into the Chart Expert. Once you are there, you will want to select just one of the bars that you want as a line. If you select it correctly and right click, there is an option to "display as line". This works for single y-axis and double y-axis.
I am trying to create a report in CR 8.0 with a bar chart to show the actuals and a line to show the goal. I tried the suggestion from Andie, but I was not able to get the "display as line" option to appear. What does it mean to select the bar correctly?
Also, I try the Chart Analyzer and used a Custom Chart. I found a bar chart, which displayed a line to connect the bars. I then tried to make the bar transparent, so only the line displayed, but the line was made transparent as well. Any suggestions on how to create this report?
In 8 you would:
1) launch the analyzer
2) click on one bar in the series
3) Select menu options: Analyzer-Format Chart- Series
4) On the general tab change the selection for "Always show...."
from "Default for this.."
