I have several servers, but each of it has a different timestamp when I type the date command.
I want one of these servers to be the reference and the other to synchronize their time on that one.
Is this possible ?

Carine,

This is possible - you need to use the ntp (Network Time Protocol) service.

I've never needed to do this but it doesn't look too bad -- do a

man ntp

for the details

You need at least AIX 4.2

Mike
michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com
<a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site
Another option is to use timed
Dave Hamilton
dhamilton@gio.com.au

I used already "timed" daemon; it's easy; first on the comp you want to be the "time server" and continue with the "clients"; you can smitty or "startsrc -s timed" to do this;

by

I've also found that "ntpdate w.x.y.z" in a cron script works OK for me.
