I am trying to deploy an application on a Win98 machine (have no choice as this is all the customer has). My application requires the mySQL server to be running, but I cannot work out how to get win98 to automatically start the service on bootup and shut it down when it closes. Any ideas?

Hello, from the Start Menu, go to Programs, can you see an item labeled Startup? I drag the shortcut of whatever apps (Shortcut to winmysqladmin.exe in this case) that I want them to start automatically. To make sure things go okay, click start->run and type msconfig, switch to the "Startup" tab, you shall see mysqladmin there.
