I have a HTML page that utilizes SSI commands to generate two values. I need to save, somehow, those two values so I can pass them later on to the other HTML sites that the CGI script the first HTML page calls generates as hidden fields, for example.

Please, help.

Thank you,

eli

I don't know how to do it with an SSI, but, it would be simple to emulate the behavior of the SSIs with some CGI. I wonder if PHP or ASP might be able to do this? I don't know...? If you're interested in a Perl / CGI solution, we can work in that direction.

Please use descriptive titles and check the FAQs.
And, beware the evil typo.

Hello TMTOWTDI,

I know that whatever I do with SSI I can emulate it with a CGI script. However, I want to display the values as soon as the HTML site is accessed. Hence, I opted to go with SSI.
My solution so far is to save the data generated by the script that SSI calls into a file and later on, open that file in the CGI that the HTML calls. It seems to work but I guess, I want a different solution.

Thank you for answering.

Regards,

Eli
