How can I repair my windows ME? 1

I have a laptop with ME installed on it. I recentally uninstalled 3dsmax, but I also uninstalled some important windows files with them. How can I get these files back? Is there a way I can use my ME disc to overwrite all the files, but keep all the things I ever installed on it? I would try system restore, but I am missing a file from the sWindows folder for that to work. How can I Repair my windows?

Whenever I follow the instructions on any of those links it says file not found. Is there a way I can reformat ME without losing my program files and documants, ect?

Nvm... it worked. I just had to put the restore from directory to "D:\win9x\" instead. Thanks
