Hi,
on Windows XP SP3 I would like to remove all permissions from c:\mydir folder from any user that is not Administrator or myown administrator account.

Specially I would like to remove permissions for user account Guest.

How to remove folder permissions to prevent Guest users to see files?
Regards,

Well you could add a deny permission, but this probably won't be a good idea since by default, child folders will inherit that deny permission. Far better would be to use the group policy editor (Start, run, gpedit.msc). In User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Explorer, you will find a policy that will hide any drives that you'd like. A possibly easier way to access this policy and many others, is to use Windows Steady State.

right click folder and go to propperties-->security-->advanced. Click edit and then click on the user you are wanting to delete and then uncheck the box beside "include inheritable permissions......" In the next screen be sure and hit Copy. You will then be able to remove that user. This may also allow you to remove all the users except the ones that you want. It has been awhile since i have had to do this.

Want to try Encryption, look in the Help and Support program if you do?

As stated Security Access Permission can be configured to control access to folders and files.
