How can I recover data with a medium on another Server with Veritas?, 1

I would to know, how I can recover Data from a medium on another Server, which do not know about this Medium ?!?
Have you any Idea.

Hi Julia,

Once you have installed Backup Exec on the other computer, go to the devices tab. Go to the standalone drive (if a library, select the robotic library) and drill down until you see the drive. Right click and select inventory.

The inventory will read the tape label

After the inventory completes you should be able to see the label of the media. Right click the label and select catalog.

The catalog job will read the catalog (index of all the files on the tape) and place them on the hard disk, back into your restore selections.

As the catalog job is running , you should be able to see the restore selections gradualy populate.
