Does anybody know how to change the IP address of Meridian Link once it has been installed? I have a Nortel Meridian Option 81C running Release 24.25 with Meridian Link 5C. I need to either determine which IP address was assigned to Meridian Link or update the IP address to a known IP address. I understand Nortel has a way of doing this but I cannot find any documentation on the procedure. Can anybody help?

Suresh

There is a command in the Meridian Link that allow you to change the ip address and the host1 name. you can try startNSE. But to take effect this change you must reboot the application.

I hope you can do it.

To view the installed IP address requires high level password access at distributor level and information such as this should not be disclosed.

To upload a new keycode you could always go through the process of 1)backup, 2)load installation tapes <inputting a new IP address when required> 3) restore the customer data from backup tape.

Or you could always request that your distributor change the IP address at the higher level (either way the service/system will need stopping and starting again)

Or....

Find the MAC address of the ethernet interface, then get your LAN guru's to cross refference and locate the IP address...

Just a thought...

There is not a published procedure, ar it requires root access. Basically, after logging in as root, if I remember right, the iphosts file must be modified with the new IP/GATEWAY & MASK.
