Hi people,

I'm using Illustrator CS4, and I'd like to be able to pick up a color from an object on the stage, just like in Photoshop, so when the color picker pallette is popped up, I need to be able to pick a color outside the color pallette window.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Regards,
Eu

...use the eyedropper tool...

...if you double click the eyedropper tool you can set parameters for the tool...

...illustrator can pick up and apply much more that just the color...

Andrew,

Thanks for your useful info!

...glad to be of assistance...

...do note the "double click" method also applies to other tools in the toolbar, but not all of them...

andrew

...another method is to hit the enter key on your keypad, or the standard return key on the main keyboard area with a tool already selected...

...so for example the shortcut for the eyedropper would be "i + enter/return"...

...just ensure though you aren't in typesetting mode...
