We all hate the useless Windows logon prompt. I detest it. I've got a lot that loads on startup and I'd like to simply fire up the PC, make my coffee, and come back to my desktop, not some idiotic box waiting for me to hit ESC before it loads everything. Is there any way to not be prompted for a password on startup? I've scoured the registry, but can't find anything to toggle this off. I know, I should get a REAL OS, but this is quick (and dirty) and does the trick for now.

Thanks in advance for all assistance

goto Control Panels, then goto Passwords, then click on User Profiles tab, then click the radio button that says, "All user of this computer use the same preferences and desktop settings. That will get rid of the login screen (unless you are on a Network), if you're on a Network downlaod this control panel called TwaekUI and goto login tab, and enter your username and password, and tell it to login automatically:

Hope this helps!

Thanks heaps! Had tried your first suggestion with no luck, but TweakUI did the trick (and others). Highly recommend this utility.

Cheers

TweakUI is cool control panel. I like it b/c you don't have to mess around with the registry, and it has quite a few features.

Glad to help!
