im trying to install peanut linux on my other box. I fdisked and formated it only to find out the cd doesnt work at all. i swapped it out for a known good and it still doesnt work. so my question is how can i get the 8mb install file to a comp with dos and a floppy?

If the second computer has all it's parts working (can read other CD's ) then I would burn another copy of the CD and try that. If it won't read any type of CD i'd fix it first or plan running a small version of linux that will load and run from floppies.

Take out the harddrive and install it in a computer with a working CD-ROM... install linux on that harddrive, then put it back in the other computer.

Look at the web site below for a tiny distribution of Linux.
I bought the CD-ROM version which contains about ten small Linux distributions or the web sites for same.
I loaded Linux from 12 floppies onto a 486 laptop which worked fine in text mode. I never got the GUI interface to work.
