Hi All,

My telemarketing group makes about 50 calls per day. That makes for lots of dialing, and multiple mistakes.

One of our recent hires said at his last company he could just click on a phone number in his spreadsheet and the phone on his desk would dial that number. Very convenient, especially if you're making 50 calls per day.

We have a CS1000 and our phones are 2004P2.

Any ideas?

Thank You - Joe

Most likely, your PC's would have to have modems with an analog line, using the same number as the 2004's. I do not know how to set up the XL side, but once you get it to dial out, the user would pick up their desk phone and be connected. You would need an analog line for every PC you want this to work on.

Apparently you need an add on for XL. a quick search came up with XL dialer Pro, which allows you to dial out from the spreadsheet, I am sure there are instructions with the package. I have never used it, so not saying this is the program to use, just giving as an example ......

I would be leaning towards softphones (or are they already?). Otherwise, this is a TAPI application and that is tossing good money towards old technology.

Thanks all for the info. You've given me some ideas to look into. I hope to report back with a success story. I will let you know.

I think maybe he had a VOIP phone connected through a USB port to his PC.

Look in to Avaya One-X Communicator

Not a cheap solution, but sounds like what you are talking about.

The 2050 IP Softphone supports this capability. I have not set it up myself but take a look.
