When I use fonts, and try and export them to .gif, I am being told that my "black" font has like 16 to 24 original colors. Is there a way to make it just 1 (or 2 if you count the background)? [sig][/sig]

Try changing the anti-aliasing option in the type tool to none. I don't remember versions previous to 5.5, but in 5.5 you have options none, crisp, strong, and smooth. That should do the trick. [sig][/sig]

If you don't want to lose all of the colours you can select which colours you keep in the save for web dialogue box colour table (5.5.), or, by selecting the maximum number of colours, let photoshop do it for you. This means that you will keep a slightly smooth edge, although not quality of full anti-aliasing.

Hi,

For this you will have to go to Image > Mode > Indexed Color

Select from the drop Down Adaptive and say 1 color.

This will help
