How can I link a ColdFusion Page to Microsoft Outlook?

I want the user to be able to click an icon on a ColdFusion page that should open a new appointment in the Calendar of Microsoft Outlook.

Can someone tell me how I can do this?

I've never done it, but it can probably be accomplished using the <cfobject> tag.
