Another dev turned in an external HD as bad. He tried copying data to it, & when he hit 100GB it gave him errors and refused to write any more data to the HD. I suspect it is going out, and don't think it's a good idea to use it. If it goes out, it's going to cost us at LEAST $80, which is what the HD costs.
But, it's currently being put back into circulation for uses under 100GB. This strikes me as a bad idea...is there any way I can fry it so it doesn't get put back into circulation?
