Hallo everyone.

I use Adobe InDesign 2.0.2 on Mac OS X (Jaguar), Italian version.

I'm going to create a catalogue for the Japanese market and I need a script to invert the page numbers (you know that in Japanese the "last" page is the "first" for western countries).

Example
Suppose that my document has X pages: I need that the "first" page of my document is numbered as "X", the second should be "X-1", the third "X-2" and so on... I know that the Japanese version of InDesign should solve the problem, but I wonder if there's a script to get the same result.

Thanks a lot to everyone...

You should post this question on the InDesign Scripting forum at the Adobe User To User forums. The forums are in the Support section of the website.

Has your customer actually said that they want the numbering to begin from the back page?

I can tell you that although most books and newspapers begin from the "back", most of the product catalogues I have seen here actually begin from the "front" with the same numbering system as in the West.

Japanese have no difficulty in reading from the "front" or the "back".
