How can I identify if multiple servers are from the Same CD ? Trying to identify if people built a bunch of WIN2K servers from a single MSDN CD......?

as long as they have the license that shouldn't matter.

If you want to get an answer read this FAQ faq796-2540

But is there a way to identify....that is my question.....

There is no way to tie any installation to a particular CD. There are, however, ways of identifying the lisences used.

There is such a program called magic jellybean finder and it may be able to get the CD key of the installation. It is able to do that on no server operation systems.

Or use Belarc advisor, free download. It gives a report with the CD Key and other numbers.

Christaan, is correct, as long as you have licenses for the other servers, no court in the USA would penalize you for using the one server disk for all installs; for that matter MS would never bring you to court as the Uniform Business Code would allow this.
