I have a report I ran where the criteria calls for any string that contains a certain code. Well it worked, however, the code may be listed twice, or upto 4 times on any one string and therefore appears more than once on my report.

Is there a way to exclude duplicate strings?

I hope I made sense...

Thanks!

in report design mode, file >> options >> database >> advanced options >> select distinct data for browsing.

Hope it works !

The above works for exact duplicate rows (records), if you need to exclude duplicates of just one field, right click the section containing your field and select format section.
Click the X-2 next to Suppression.

Now place something like (This assumes that the rows are sorted by the field):

Previous({MyTable.MyCode}) = {MyTable.MyCode}

Be careful if you're doing any sums/counts though, this doesn't eliminate them from the report, it just prevents them from being displayed.
