Hi,

I want to embed the excel sheet in my JSP page. I don't know how to embed it. I'm using IFrame to include an excel sheet. It display the values but i need the look and feel as excel sheet. I need to manipulate the data in the excel sheet.
Kindly help me.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a URL to post? If not, why not say so. If so, it really would help if you did post it.

As I said a few posts ago:

I find it very hard to believe that an Excel file is being delivered as HTML. Perhaps you are mistaken about this, or about the fact that it is an Excel file (maybe it's erroneously got a .xls extension - try opening it in a text editor like Notepad and see what you get).

Sorry guys I couldn't contact you. I have lot of pressure to complete other works. So I couldn't reply you.

Thanks.

jollyplay,

Did you resolve this yet?

Do you have a URL you can show us?

Are you perhaps mistaken about the file being delivered as HTML?

Is the file really an Excel file? Have you tried opening it in a text editor to see what you get?

Hi,

I used content type to open the excel sheet. Now i'm able to open the excel sheet but i dont know how to save the changes made in the sheet.

Please give me suggestions to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Where do you want to get your data saved? At client or server side?

Cheers,
Dian

Hi Diancecht,

when i was clicking the back button from the excel sheet(after some updation) which is integrated in jsp, it is prompting whether to save the changed document or not?how to solve this problem there by saving the updated document as xls(i.e., excel) by java code in the localhost.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think there's a way to request data from the server, you must do that at client side, but cannot make an idea of how. Maybe you should think on what you want to do and how are you planning yo do it overall.

Cheers,
Dian
