I have IE 6.0 and I'm very new at all this. I hope some of the experts here can helo me!

When I open IE, I go to the address bar and clear the bar. Then when I type in any letter,a window drops down with personal info. Every time I clear the address bar and type in a new letter more info comes up. I can't find a way to clear or eliminate that window.

I've been told that this is some kind of web search engine, and that people with WIN 98 and ME have this drop down windowand that in WIN 95 or earlier, the drop down window is hidden. I'm not sure if this is true, or even what it is all about if it is true. I just want to eliminate that window.

On the address bar, when I clear it and type in an "r", every site I have gone to comes up that start with a"r". For example, radio shack.

Different letters bring up different ledgers, including my Email address, home address, phone number, credit card number, etc.

Every thing I've ever done, every site, every transaction.Even cookies I thought were

Hi

I think what you are referring to is part of AutoComplete.

On the Menu bar click on 'Tools' then 'Internet Options'.

Click on the 'Content' tab. In the 'Personal Information
section click the 'AutoComplete' button. Remove the check
marks from 'Web addresses', the other two as well if you
like.

You can clear your AutoComplete history here as well by
clicking on the 'Clear Forms' and 'Clear Passwords' buttons.

Woof!

Try using opposite values found in this thread, (ie.0 for 1,
and "no" for "yes"...
