How can I disable the mouse while a movie loads?

Hidingthe mouse is easy, but if you click while it's hidden, it still works despite the fcatit's invisible. Just want to disable the mouse completely til the movie finishes loading.

maybe it would be easier to disable all the buttons and menus until the movie finishes loading...

the mouse, as far as i know... it's kind of impossible. That's the whole point of interactivity, to have a mouse. So i doubt Flash can disable the mouse events. Diana.

You could, while you want the mouse disable, is insert a button with only a hit state that is the size of your movie so it covers everything with no actions assigned to it- make sure it is on the top level/layer.... thus when it is there none of the buttons will work thus making it seem like the maouse has been disabled

Would you have any suggestions on how disable the butons globally without having to goto each button and indivindually toggling them?

if you had the buttons named in an array you could do something like (if buttons where named button1, button2):

for (i=1; i<10; i++) {
_root[&quot;button&quot;+i].onRelease=null;
}

not sure if there is on global statement to disable all buttons... could be thought- who knows...
