HI –

I’m trying to accomplish something that seems easy but after hours of trying to make it happen…I just seem to be missing something…

I have three phone lines (one primary and two rollover lines) that ring and can be answered on all five of my Avaya phones. Our VM System is Partner Mail VS R5.0.

I would like to have all three lines continue to ring on all five phones, but if nobody answers, the called will be directed to one VM (on ext. 10) instead of the caller being prompted to enter an extension.
So if someone calls my office and nobody answers, they’ll just get the VM on extension 10.
I’ve read about Line ownership, Line Coverage and I just can’t seem to nail it down. I’m assuming that I need to somehow disable the Auto Attendant????
Can anyone PLEASE give me the general steps to make this happen?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Set #208 to x10 for all lines
Set #206 to VMS line cover (option 3) for all lines

That will disable AA. #206 and option 1 sends it to AA.

Thanks you so much for the reply!

OK...I performed the two steps exactly as you said.

1. Set #208 (Line Coverage) and associated the lines to Data 10

2. Set # 206 and set all lines under "Group Call Distrib- 7" to VMS Line Cover

3. I verified Line Ownership in the VM system that the lines are owned by ext 10.

If I call any of the numbers it'll just ring and ring with no VM at all. Do I need to setup some type of # of rings before the systems/ext picks up?

Thanks again!

Make sure that the lines are set to Immediate or Delayed ring on Ext. 10, and Ext. 10 has Automatic VMS Coverage assigned in #310
