How can I determine which harddrive hold C: D: E: F: etc?

I have 2 harddrives and each harddrive is partitioned in to various drives.

Example:
Harddrive #1 C: E: F:
Harddrive #2 D: G:

Is there software to find this kind of information??

I'm not sure that I understand your question.

In your "Example: Harddrive #1 C: E: F:, Harddrive #2 D: G:"
you have stated which HD's have which partitions.
And from that example, HD #1 has a primary partition and an extended partition sub-divided into 2 logical partitions, and HD #2 has a primary partition and an extended partition.

I do not know which hard drives contain the drives D: E: F: G:

This is what I would like to determine. I want to keep non-critical data on a particular drive and critical data on the other but I can not do this if I do not know which hard drive hold what drives.. I is clearer now.

All I know now is that C: resides on hard drive #1 I do not know where the other ones are.

fdisk shows this.
Also Belarc Advisor and I assume Sysoft Sandra and Mitchell.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

You could also look at the drive properties in "My Computer" and take note of the capacity.

Open a DOS window. Type in;

fdisk/status

It's a good day when you learn something

Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Computer Management -> disk Management

This will show all storage devices on the computer and their logical drives.

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies.
I did find that fdisk /statu did give me the information that I needed.

I have tryed ranesh partition management software before but I found it rather confusing to use. So I do not think I have it anymore.

And lastly "Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Computer Management -> disk Management" What version of windows is this for I am running Win98 and I do not have these items.

Once again thanks for the replies
