Hi guys!

A client of mine have an old app that seems to be wrote in Dbase (Not know the version), so they ask me to automate some routines in a single step instead of run the routine for every store (About 35 stores, you can imagine it tooks lot of time).

So what I need it´s try to decompile the .exe file to know exactly wich process I need to setup in the new app. If anybody knows about some link or program to achieve this, I´ll appreciate you help.

Thanks in advance!

Bare with me I'm a newbee here just joined today. Been working hardware for the last 10yrs. If my memory serves me dbase pior to DbaseIV used DBrun.exe so if you have a self-contained ***.exe it is likely a clipper file. Check out thread: Home > Forums > Programmers > DBMS Packages > dBASE Inc: dBASE PLUS Forum > Converting a Single User DBase III program to Multiuser. Alot of your answers are there. Member TeknoSDS did a good job explaining things. I only anwsered this because it has been over a week & nobodys posted a reply to this. You may have already fond an answer somewhere else. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will point this out. Goodluck I'll check back in a day or so to see how your are doing.

ahdezm,

There are a number of decompilers on the market for clipper if that is what you need. What extension are the databases that are associated with this app. If they are DBF's & NTX's then you have a clipper app, other extension may also be clipper depending on the index schema used. Google clipper & decomplier and you'll see what's available. But depending on the linker used to link the app you may see issues trying to decompile. I never had to use a decomplier but have talked to people who have.
