Hi

I have a site already in my IIS but wish to create an additional second site. When I right click on any of the nodes there is not an option saying "New". How can I do this?

Many thanks for any help.

Les

Hi thanks for your reply. I assume I have the full version as we currently use the IIS to host a public website. The OS is Windows 2000.

Like Chris said, You have to be running on the Server OS Platform. You replied Windows 2000, but is it Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Professional (workstation version). If it is professional you are not able to create another web-site. If it is Windows 2000 Server than you should be able to create a new virtual server within IIS.

Hope this helps...

Hi I am able to create a second website. I have contacted my web host who have pointed an A record to the same IP address as my first main website to also be used for my second domain... so both domains use the same IP. In the default website properties in IIS I have added a second host header name for the second domain and entered the same IP as that of my first site. My web host assured me this would be fine and I could make both sites/host header names use a different home directory so when a user types each domain in a web browser the appropriate site is displayed. However how can I have a second home directory path... there is only one field in the Default Website properties home directory tab. Currently I have set it to use the path which the first main website uses.

Therefore I have set it up so when a user enters the first and second website address the same content is displayed. This is as expected because both basically use the same home directory path. How can I have a separate home directory path for each site? Thank you for your help.

I seem to have sorted out my problem. I simply created an additional second website in IIS... This is as opposed to adding two host header names in the Default Website properties. Instead I added the "es.usedtelecoms.com" host header name to the new additional second website. This now seems to work and allows me to have a different home directory path.
