What do you mean you need 25 with internal mail and 25 with internal and external? Are you referring to how they access the accounts or intranet email and internet (aka extranet) email?
You can set up lists of users whose messages will not be passed through the Internet Mail Service. If you go into the properties of the IMS and choose the Delivery Restrictions Tab there is one field for selecting users whose messages will be rejected by the IMS. These users receive a non delivery report if they try to send to the Internet.
the person above was correct but if you also want to keep the 25 internal users from reciving mail as well you will need to delete their individual smtp addresses.
I assume you're talking about Exchange 5. How can this be done in Exchange 2000? I've managed to prevent some users from receiving external mail by assigning them an invalid SMTP address (for example, user@com.domain), but I can't seem to find the way to stop them from sending mail to the outside (only internal mail should be permitted).
The import utility works great for creating or editing multiple mailboxes as a batch process from comma delimited files. I use the import utility even for one or two mailboxes because it allows me to assign membership in one of three distribution lists much faster than is possibly manually. I have also exported, edited in Excel or Access, and then performed a modify import on several hundred at a time. This works great for changing phone numbers.
