Hi,

how can i see in the logs (or wherever) if a backup was done with or without copression.

Equal if i use a compress asm or the set variable NSR_Compression=true ( i does not mean the hardware compression)

Background: Iam not sure if the asm and or/variable is working everywhere and i have to be sure.

Compressasm is client site compression only. You select hardware compression by using the appropriate device name ... if you can (for example /dev/rmt/0bn vs /dev/rmt/0cbn9.

Of course this is not an option for Windows.

Hi 605,

no i does not mean hardware compression (do not like to use it for secial reasons)

I seam only about the compressasm and the nsr_Compression variable for datsbases on the clients

On the novell client i found that i can see it on restores flagged with a "C" at the beginning that it was backuped with compression but how can i check it on databases ???
