Almost all my IP installations have been with the 5600 series. I did a couple with the 1600's and remembered how much I hate paper labels. Just curious what the feedback has been on the 9600's. Anything people love or hate? Anything easier or annoying about them?

i like them. havent heard of anyone able to install one without a cf card in the ipo to run the files from, which is annoying, but other than that, they are great.

i found it getting some users to go from 54/56 series to the 96, but you know what end users are like.

Get well soon Aaron.

I have one running here and love it. we just did an install with 100 9630G's in one site and like 25 in another. they went very well. we dont use the CF card. i just used MV_IPTEL to load the files.

I just finished rolling out 25+ of them with an adtran 904 for sip carried over to a pri card. Absolutely Zero issues, and so far so good all of them are 9650's. I only had one complaint and that was that they have so many features it is hard for them to learn how to properly label and program the speed dial buttons.

I did the http option on the dhcp server and also used MV_IPTEL as it is so simple and runs so smooth for me.

MV_Iptel is great but needs a pc or server while a CF card is easier (my opinion)
With the 500v2 you have a SD which is always there.
I like the 9600 phones and think that the 9620/20l will be a good phone to sell

I like the 96xx very much, they have a vry good sound, and if you have the 96xxG then they support 1Gb

We use MV_IPtel or IIS they work both great, if you use IIS just put the files in the C:\inetpub\ and your done.

You can also change the screensaver with your company logo.

I like the 96xx very much too. Just played with the USB port on the 9640. Very nice! You can put your USb stick in the phone and it wil log on with your phone number and your personal contacts. Also you can use the display as a digital photoframe (or company logo)

What's all this talk about not being able to install them without using the CF card? I installed a 9650 here without a CF card. No configuration required? I'm using MV-IPTel as a file server and it upgraded without fuss.

What have other people experienced?

TheSmash, I think the issue was with the Beta R6, if you used Manager of any other server the handset requested a file that didn't exsist(96xxsettings) unless you had used the upload phone files option in Manager to a flash card and that proces genrated the file :) Also I thought the USB option wasn't supported on IP Office.... but it does work hey, I like the handsets but with the endpoint licence you sure are paying top dollar for them and one little negative forme is that the 4 way navigation buttons are rather more fiddly than the simple left and right of the 46/56xx's and can make dong some things long winded :)

if you use IIS - just point the virtual directory to your manager directory so when you do upgrades you dont need to remember to copy the files to the IIS default path.....

Hi tlpeter (Programmer)

First you need to download the program Avaya_one-X_Deskphone_USB_Companion. Do you want to use it on an IP office or on the communication manager? cuz i tried it on the CM. Didn´t try on an IP Office yet. In this program you can enter your phone number and your password. As soon as you put your USB in the phone, the phone asks if you want to login. That´s it actually. Hope this is what you mean, good luck trying.

I have the program.
I tried it on an ipo butitdoes not work well.
It only logs in when you reboot the phone and if you pull the USB stick it logs you out.
It never logs you back in.
It is also NOT supported on the ipo.

Kind of a solution to a problem that never existed though :)

Excellent, so not only can it tell you your name and extension number it can also include a picture of yourself just in case you're really having a bad day.

Or a picture of your mother in law in cause you really hate your job !!!

I think that would void the warranty on the handset, it would be classed as deliberate abuse :)
