Not sure what you mean on "card presure"?? Are you talking about inserting the cards into a slot??

afaik all telephony equipment uses direct current at 48V level. why do you need it?

the direct current is reduced to lower voltages of 15, and 5 volts if I remember right. No intergrated circuit on Avaya uses 48 volts, except possibly the old cards that have neon message waiting lights and off premises ringing voltage of 90 volts.
