hourly rate MCSD VB courses

Hello

I (may) need to hire some qualified MCT/MCSD people to deliver in-house visual basic training. Could anyone please give me a rough (truthful!) idea of the hourly rate I'm likely to pay.

I work in the trainer brokerage division for a CTEC in Philadelphia. I would say the general rate is anywhere between $600/day to $850/day (if they are not local, then add travel expenses which typically we use:$35/day for food, plus hotel, and airfare&car rental or $0.31 per mile they drive). The difference in pricing is typically due to their real-world experience with VB and with past teaching performance.

Billing hourly, it can vary. Most of the training vendors I deal with are 6 hour days, not 8 hours. If you are looking at training in the evening, then typically it's a 3 hour evening, so half a billable day.

If you are looking to spread a class out over a couple of weeks and run a few hours a day, you will run into the problem of instructors wanting to bill you for a FULL day, not for half a day. This is because they can easily go elsewhere and get a FULL billable day.

If you have a large group to train (maybe other departments need training too?), you can possibly break it up into a morning session, and then an afternoon session...

BUT I'm not technical, so I do not know how that would effect the material! Some classes are better not to be broken up in half days and such. An MCT can help you out better there.
